Asbestos Abatement
Often found in older construction, asbestos can become extremely dangerous when inhaled. To minimize the risks associated with asbestos, abatement procedures are used to control the release of asbestos fibers as materials are being removed, encapsulated, or repaired.
When we are performing asbestos abatement, the area is completely sealed off to prevent contamination of other areas. To do this we use polyethylene film, duct tape, and negative air pressure machines that have been fitted with HEPA filters. This way, fresh air is being pulled into the affected area, but asbestos fibers are not being let out into the surrounding environment.
Special vacuum cleaners designed specifically for the containment of asbestos are used during the clean up of the affected materials. The main goal of any and all asbestos abatement is to ensure that the hazardous fibers are not contaminating any accessible air.
